Winter Coat Appeal

Pilton Community Health Project is running a Winter Coat Appeal, and the Strollers will be supporting it.

It’s quite simple, if you have any spare coats, hats, or gloves for men, women and kids please donate them to the Appeal. If you want to buy and donate an item, that will also be gratefully accepted.

The Strollers committee and players will be donating, and we hope that supporters will do the same. Therefore, those of you coming to our EoS Qualifying Cup home match against Harthill Royal on Saturday, 30 November, please bring donations with you. We will then pass them on to PCHP.

Goals From Irvine Meadow Game

Unfortunately, Irvine made best use of the windy conditions and home advantage and got off to an ideal start with a couple of goals. We then lost a third just before  half time –  a breakaway and a smart finish by Irvine’s winger saw us fall further behind.

We had a  good chance just after the break when we hit the post. We had a lot more of the ball in the 2nd half and got into our passing game but just couldn’t find the net.

All the best to “The Medda” in the next round. We look forward to welcoming them to CG Park on 16 November when we meet again in the 4th round of the South of Scotland Challenge Cup.

Its The Scottish Cup!!

This Saturday we’re off to Ayrshire to take on Irvine Meadow XI in the 2nd round of The Scottish Gas Scottish Cup.

The Strollers are in good form having won our last 4 games including a victories over a strong Broxburn Athletic in the league and away against Dalry Thistle another Ayrshire team in the 3rd round of the South Challenge Cup

Although The Medda are near the foot of the West of Scotland 1st Division they are on a very good run of cup and league results. No doubt they will be up for this important tie.

So fingers crossed for a good result on Saturday and another step closer to a showdown at Hampden with our North Edinburgh rivals Hibs!!

Well Done Marc and Callum (again)!

Congratulations to Captain Marc Laird who has been named in the Official Catchup Team of The Month. Marc has been outstanding in our recent run of games and thoroughly deserves  the recognition. Well done!

Further congratulations are also due to Callum Yeats. His fantastic goal against Cumbernauld Colts was shortlisted for goal of Round 1 of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup. We’re pleased to say that it has now been chosen as the winner!

You can see the goal again in our Gallery
